Waste free farming? It it possible? We think so! Even our mushroom logs themselves are a salvaged product. These logs were going to be used as fire wood or turned into wood chips. Each log transforms this waste stream into food. When you grow your own mushrooms you can be sure there is no packaging involved.

Growing mushrooms on logs requires no plastic making our farm nearly plastic free! The only plastic we use is from the bags of sawdust spawn we used this year. We hope to produce our own spawn one day and eliminate our plastic use all together.

We uphold our mission to eliminate the waste stream of our food and farm in other ways too. We make all our information available online or printed on 100% hemp fiber paper. Hemp fiber is one of the most sustainable fibers and can be easily composted in your own backyard.
