Considering when you want your logs to fruit can help you choose a log. Each mushrooms has its own unique qualities, fruiting habits and temperature range. Temperature range refers to the temperature you can expect to see them fruit. Within the shiitake mushroom logs you can choose by temperature range as well. We offer 3 temperature ranges: Cold Weather, Warm Weather and Wide Range. Every shiitake cultivar we offer will all have the delicious shiitake flavor you know and love.

Size/Diameter
When choosing a size, remember, larger logs will have a longer lifespan. For each inch in diameter you can expect 1 year of mushroom production with proper care.
Small: 3'“-4” diameter, 3-4 years
Medium: 5”-6” diameter, 5-6 years
Large: 7”-9” diameter, 7-9 years
Length
All logs can be sold in 1’ or 3’ sections. The larger the log the more mushrooms it can produce with each flush.
